I'm going to be waiting for the next refresh of iMacs, whether it is a month or 3, but I was curious is there a huge difference between these graphics cards? Say I wanted to game on the computer. Not hardcore gaming, maybe like Battlefield the most recent one. That should run fine, right?

Also would I be able to upgrade later or no?

I will also be upgrading the RAM but I believe it's cheaper to do so with a third party, correct?

You're looking more at the difference between the 9400M+9600M combo and the 9400M+9800M combo.

RAM is always cheaper third-party, yes. Make sure you get DDR3 (but of course check for the exact specs required when the iMacs do finally come out).

Why would apple include the 9400m in the iMac? They mainly did that in the laptops to conserve battery but battery life isn't going to matter in the iMac.

9400M is intergrated. 9400M+9600M is more powerful than 9600M only.

Why couldn't they use the 9800M. It would seem that the 9400M+9600M would have the same power requirements as the 9800M and be slower. Or even use Mobility Radeon 4850x2 (or the 4870), those would be faster than using the 9400M+9600M and probably use about the same amount of power.

I totally agree with you! It seems that Radeon 4850 is a better chip than 9800. I don't much care about which graphic chip will be used. I just hope that the new iMac is going to use the Core i7.:D

It's not going to happen. Yea and I'm waiting for Teraflop iMac

I just mentioned one conf. option. It's likely that it'll also have 9400M + 9800 combo.
