Do you get 14 days to try it out without paying a restocking fee? What if the Macbook arrives with a scratch?

Thanks ;):apple:

If you open it, you can return it within 14 days, paying 10%.
If you don't open it, you can return it within 14 days.

If it was damaged upon opening, you can swap it, but you'll have a time proving it to them.

To add to the above post, a scratch is not covered by warranty.

Thats besides the point, if your new MB arrives with a big scratch on the top cover....(which I highly doubt would happen but I'm sure it has to someone out there) they should swap it out, or at least replace the casing.

Now say if you had your MB for 6 months and you scratched it yourself....thats a different story, then your statement would hold true

Apple appears to place their Sale and Refund policy (http://a248.e.akamai.net/7/248/2041/1511/store.apple.com/Catalog/US/Images/salespolicies.html) predominately on their website's storefront. Are you just worried about something senseless or do you actually believe there is a known issue with MBs arriving from Apple.com with huge scratches on the lid?

I haven't bought it yet, debating on buying from the store or apple.com.

If you can buy it from the store, do it. That way you can open it there and return it if needed.

Does anyone know how long it takes the online Apple store to return money back to the credit card? I was told it be processed by the end of the week (which was February 6th). I checked my credit card account online on the 18th and it still did not show, so I called them, and they told me it would be 2 weeks from the return date to go through processing (despite what they told me earlier).

It's the 23rd and still hasn't shown up. Has anyone had experience with this? It's with American Express and they're usually really fast with other online merchants.
