I am looking to get my church to get a new computer to be used in services.

I was hoping to pursuade them to get an iMac.

One question I thought of:

If I am using the mac to output sound to the mixing desk - eg itunes/dvd etc - can i then use the audio input to record an output from the mixing desk at the same time.....?

I only ask cos tried to do it on the old pc we used and it didnt like it at all!

Yes. It'll work as long as you don't have the inputs playing on computer speakers, as that will cause feedback.

The default in and outputs are fine. Professional musicians would use an external sound card.

Almost all musicians use Macs by the way.
