Sorry if I'm repeating a thread here but I'm wondering what's the advantages of having Windows on a Mac?(I'm assuming you all are running OS X simultaneously)

Gaming, more compatibility with your friends that use windows (say you wanna webcam over aim, ichat won't work - i don't think - at least when i tried i couldn't cam with a windows user via ichat), maybe your work requires windows, maybe there are a few programs that are not for mac (rare), list goes on and on.

1. All business apps will be at your disposal. There are still some, like Visio and MS Project and AutoCad that are de facto standards in the business world
2. All the really cool games...so many of them that don't run on a Mac
3. If you are a law student, you'll need something running windows for the Exam software you use since is does not run on OSX
That is just 3 reasons but there are others. Obviously Apple acknowledges this at some level since they support Bootcamp.
I use Fusion and it works well for me. I have Win XP and Vista virtual machines depending on what my clients require at the desktop. BTW Window 7, gussy-ed up version of Vista is actually quite good even in its beta form.

It's kinda sad, but the drivers Apple provided for the MacBook work better then the drivers I have my dell which came with Windows in the first place:D
Also, I have a lot of software(SPSS, Quark, Mathmatica) that I can't rebuy for Mac cause I'm poor and used to be forced to work with Windows machines using college.
Also, there's nothing quite like the Windows XP Pinball game.

Every time I try to download Windows 7 I get this endless loading screen and no download.

Watching Bluray movies in Cyberlink's PowerDVD is a big advantage due to Mac OS X not having a bluray player software. I also use it for mIRC because its my favorite irc client. I too am still looking for more reasons to run Windows. Perhaps others on here can showcase powerful features on the Windows side.

Then what's the point of buying a Mac if you are looking for many reasons to run Windows? Doesn't sound like you even care about the Mac OS. It's a waste to spend so much on a Mac when you can do what YOU are doing on a common PC.

Perhaps he just likes the Mac hardware? You know there are people who buy Macs just because they like the design.

Pretty much the only disadvantage I can think of is less harddrive space. Advantages? Plenty more.

I am looking for features which at this time does not exist in Mac OS X. Such as what I stated... playing Bluray movies due to the lack of a Bluray player in Mac OS X. I spend most of my time in Mac OS X using software such as shake, color, final cut pro. I think Mac OS X is definitely better than any Windows OS. Do I like additional features which do not exist on Mac OS X? Hell yeah.
A selling point of the Mac is being able to run Windows natively. I love having the best of both worlds. If you have a problem with that well then tell Apple to take Bootcamp off the market. I'm personally thankful for Apple for actively enabling & pushing this feature. :-) Due to all these options I have the best personal computer available on the market.

Advantages: Too many to list.
Disadvantages: You lose some disk space.
Because the beta is officially over.
Yeah, that'll stop people from getting it.

It'll stop us from helping him get it, though.
At least, it had better.
