$14 starting March 15th.

I've heard differing opinions on whether this will carry sound or not. I really, really hope so. I want to hook up to my new HDTV so bad.

Yup, MonoPrice said this a while back too IIRC. Either way, it's nice to see that SOMEBODY is picking up the port type to make cheaper adapters.

Very nice. Now my Mini DisplayPort won't be completely useless...

still doesn't carry audio :(

Monoprice did suggest this would be available in late Jan before but they had some issues with finding someone to manufacturer the cables for them. I suppose...

This is better than getting a miniDP to DVI then a DVI to HDMI cable. :D

No one can seem to answer whether MDP carries audio or not, but if it doesn't, I would think that MonoPrice's adapter would carry the audio via USB or Toslink.

is there going to be any difference is hooking it up HDMI verses VGA? will it be noticeable?

Yes, VGA is analogue so its not that very accurate and might be blurrish/ghosting a little.
The bigger the screen the more noticeable it gets.
