Diablo 2 Intel Mac Help

I know this a common question and I've fixed it before, but forgot :/. Whenever I try to run Diablo 2, it quits unexpectedly. I try to hold down the option key in order to get the video options showing, however the game still quits when I do that. Please help me!

EDIT: I installed using the blizzard installer from their site.

I am assuming you have a macbook with the x3100 series graphics card.
if you have the current version of OS X (10.5.6), the 256bit color is disabled with a os x update after 10.5.2.

In order to play diablo 2, you need to do either of the following:
1) reinstall os x with the cds you have, and DO NOT update the software. leave the os x version to 10.5.2.
2) install windows xp with bootcamp. install d2.
