Hello everyone! I've got an iPod touch 2nd gen, using a PowerBook G4 running 10.4.11 with iTunes 8.0.2.

Ever since I got iTunes 8, it keeps "backing up" my iPod when I plug it in. I don't need or want it to do this, it shuts me out of iTunes control (I can't pause whatever was playing, etc. really annoying!).

Is there any option for iTunes to not back up my iPod? I manage my music manually and have all the auto sync stuff turned off.

I don't think he wants to cancel the sync, just the backing up. There's no way to do this, as far as I know.

At least on the iPhone, when you press the "x" during backup, it cancels backup and continues with the Sync. I'm assuming this is the same with the iPod Touch.

You should be able to still navigate through iTunes while it's doing this.

Anyways... just press the "x" at the top or on your iPod you can cancel it while backing up by sliding the cancel thing when it's backing up.
