okay took the plunge using ziphone and now...

it is just in recovery mode for the last 15 minutes according to the ziphone jailbreak software. How long does this part normally take? I am just nervous that it is not working correctly.

ZiPhone doesn't work with firmware over 1.1.4, so you're about eight months behind if you're using that.

PwnageTool and its subsidiaries are the only things that work anymore.

Yes, it's good news, in that ziphone messed up lots of people's phones. You'll be able to do it OK with Pwnage or Quickpwn
