I want to gain root access to my 1G iPod Touch version 2.2.1 What is the most simple way to Jailbreak my iPod to allow me to do this?

Since it's a 1G, use QuickPwn. It's pretty easy, easy enough that even noobs should be able to use it.

Does QuickPWN change the interface or anything? all I want is root access.

Root access for what? if you jailbreak your ipod you can get terminal, which you can use to do stuff in root.

QuickPWN doesn't change the interface or the boot image. Everything looks the same as before (unless you want to change it yourself). All it does is add Cydia.

All it does is add Cydia.

..... and makes the filesystem fully accessable

one more question...does it delete anything on my iPod during the process?

BTW: Thanks for all the help!

Yeah that too, sorry. I was talking about how it would change the iPod's looks.

You can definitely do something about this.

all quickpwn does is make the filesystem readable so that you can use cydia and all other 3rd party apps, you will definately not loose any music, video, photos, apps
