I think for any new jailbreakers cydia is definately the way forward more people tend to host stuff there than on installer

Yeah, Installer has nothing on it that Cydia doesn't, and it's too buggy for anyone to use.

There isnt anyway to install all the sources at once is there?

I remember with the old installer i could add a source and install this package that installed every single source for me,

I dont think there is anything like this for the new installer or cydia is there?

Do they all need to entered manually?

There is one now, from the Steffwiz repo it's combined with some other repo; i've forgotten the name of it)
