I just bought a macbook off of my friend and I'm wondering if I need to transfer the applecare (it's still under the first year) or does it not matter?

I plan on buying the extended applecare later, if something was to happen to the macbook could I take it to the apple store with on problems.

Thanks

The first year isn't Applecare, its Warranty, the 2 years after the first year are Applecare, (3 years total) and its tied to the machine not the owner. You need to buy it before the first year ends, and but it from Ebay for 50 to 80% less than Apple sell it, or your throwing your money away.
