airport express not recognized

I looked through the other threads, and unfortunately, nothing seems to be helping. My airport express is showing a steady green light, but neither my emac, or my macbook are registering that there is an airport express.

I have restarted everthing, including my modem, and the light is still a steady green, but not showing up in airport admin, or network preferences.

any suggestions are very much appreciated.

is your express connected to a wired network? if so are the other computers hardwired to the same network?
can the computers see each other? if not, you may have a setting in the main router that prohibits different parts of your network from seeing each other.

I've had this happen as well and eventually just did the ol' hard reset. Honestly, this device doesn't work as advertised. Lots of people have had problems (http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=6940696) with this thing. I'm considering just returning it.
