iPod 900mb - 2GB? Double the size? Why?!

I ripped a .AVI file with Visual Hub, and it was 932MB and optimized for iPhone and added to iTunes, with the settings "Go Nuts".

Added to iTunes, it was a 2GB file from its former 900MB state ... why?! It doesn't look like it's incredible quality or anything.

Because you used the Go Nuts setting. You should just use the standard settings for iPhone/iPod Touch.

go nuts means make it the best possible quality so it "went nuts" and made it a big file

If you are ripping an .AVI file that has already been compressed, you can't add any "extra" quality to it. Visual Hub will max the potential for quality, but its still dictated by the original.
