Anyone have a favorite brand of externals that works with TimeMachine? $450 for a wireless external seems pricey and un-needed.

My favorite is Western Digital and I have 2 1TB a 500GB and a 320GB in my household that perform well with our Macs and Time Machine.

well, one reason the time capsule is so expensive is becuase it also has an airport extreme built in.

i just purchased an airport extreme, and it actually works very well, and since i already have an external harddrive...i just hooked it upto the USB port on the airport and bam....i have a "time capsule"
