iphone turned on then turns off

i was checking my email when all of a sudden the phone freezes and turns off...tried restarting it many times but always turned off after the home page comes on...

anyone experience this?

1. turn on iphone
2. apple icon shows up along with black screen
3. vibrates
4. goes to home page
5. turns off

all help would be great

i also have had the phone plugged in to charge, also tried to sync with itunes

Try a hard-boot, hold power button and home button down at the same time until the silver apple shows up then release both and allow your iPhone to boot up. If this fails to return iPhone to normal, then a trip to the Apple Store for a software glitch replacement...:(

thanks...its not even possible to do a hard boot as it turns off right away when it goes to the home screen...the phone has glitched before when the screen is blank, but it rings when i get a call

it shouldn't matter you should be able to just hard reboot if the phone is off (i think)
