Creating remixes?

I'm starting to work with some DJ friends and would like to be able to create my own remixes. I need advice on a good (preferably inexpensive, but I'll spend the money if it's worth it) software.

Soundtrack (http://www.apple.com/soundtrack/) is good for creating loops.

Dj 1800 (http://www.dj1800.com/download.php) is good for mixing on your computer.
