Ah well it's about time they made a new opening sequence. I like the cloud formation at the beginning, although the opening is a tad too long. Love it how their TV is now a plasma lol.

even without the couch sequence it seems a tad longer, but some nice changes overall.

But can it make the show itself better? :o

I noticed that last weeks episode is also widescreen on iTunes.

i get annoyed when people stretch the image on standard def 4:3 Simpsons (or any show for that matter) to make it widescreen 16:9 so and this will stop that… so yes, it is better.

i believe he meant to comment on the downturn of simpsons episodes of late.
Some people say the Simpsons sucked since Season 9, some Season 13, others say Season 17.
I didnt believe any of them.
Until this season. It hasnt had a single decent episode.
Bad enough the show went from 25-28minutes to barely scraping 21min including opening credits.

I quite like the new credits, but I have not got the chance to see the really new ones because we don't have Sky here. I like how they kept some of the old bits in these credits though, that is good.

Maybe I am just resistant to change but I preferred the old sequence. I also much prefer the style of the older episodes too. Doesn't stop me watching the new ones though!

Good to see the Simpsons is now finally in HD. I just got my HDTV and can't wait to watch the first real HD episode this Sunday, hopefully I get off work pretty early.

I can honestly say the Simpsons in HD is amazing. I mean, a lot of people say that it's just a cartoon and it doesn't need HD, but those are the same people watching on their 13" SDTV's. It looked awesome.

Its a 32" actually.....
I just dont know what could possibly be there that needs to be clearer. There is no more detail than whats drawn.

46" Bravia actually :p
And I'm in the same camp as the chap above me. It's a cartoon, 640p is high enough quality for anything lacking in detail such as The Simpsons.
