Maximum ram in a iBook 300mhz????

Hi,

Is it possible to install a 512 megs chip in a iBook clamshell 300mhz ? memoryx.net says yes but for crucial.com a 256 megs chip is the max you can install with a firmware update.

The maximum, to the best of my knowledge, is 256MB. I've still got the stick of Ramjet SO-DIMM that was in my old clamshell.
