Mac.com email is down - interesting message

My mac.com email stopped working this morning, so I tried to log in through the web browser to see what's up, and Apple posted this image:

hmmm...What time did you check your email and got that message? I've been checking my email at least 3 to 4 times per hour for the last 5 hours, and my .Mac email has not been down.

Maybe just routine maintenance to some accounts?

It was only down about 5 minutes. I leave Mail up all the time and it automatically checks every few minutes. I just got "lucky" I guess.
