Not a bad article, at least Sprint is trying to make some moves.

Let's just hope that they don't fubar the Pre launch and do the AT&T and Apple thing and charge more for nothing special. I personally hope Sprint doesn't fubar the OS on it either, and jack up some of the more important Pre features.

sprint is not looking good right now, though better in 2008 than 2007.

I worked as a Sprint customer service rep back a few years ago. I could easily understand why many people were furious and switched to other carriers. It was important for in every. single. call for the Customer svc rep to sell features/options, especially if they're furious. Customers never got pleased by that. Selling features and having a call time under 6 minutes maximum were the most important things for the centre. It wasn't important for the centre for the customers complaints to be fixed. It peeved me and the customers off. It sucks having to tell a very irate but nice customer that I have to hang up on her now because I had been on the line with her for an hour and my bosses were screaming down my neck to get off the line all cuz "i was costing them potential sales". No wonder why Sprint's losing alot of money, plus closed down alot of call centres

Sounds like Sprint is reaping what they sowed. That what happens when you have a bunch of bean counters in management instead of people with a strategic vision for the company.

sprint's got some fast 4g service down in baltimore. if they can continue to roll that out, they'll get a lot of new people on board

Agreed. And it's one of the major things keeping me on their network right now. Pairing their 4G in certain cities with the Palm Pre may help them grow their base of users that aren't to into the Apple and iTunes things, as well as bring some users back that may not have been too happy with their Verizon/AT&T service.
