Ha ha, I love how they have a "Buy Now" button for an Xserve G5 cluster. "Starting at $27,999...." This something no family should be without. "Mommy, can I get a supercomputer cluster for my birthday?" Hmm, I wonder if OS X will be snappy(tm) running on this system? :D

LOL, just kidding -- I know this is for scientific installations, and OS X's already plenty snappy on my humble iMac G4 800Mhz, but I'm just having fun. That $27,999 price tag is amusing if you look at it from a consumer context... :)

I tried clicking the "buy now" button ... sends you to a form. Probably some sales person will call you.

I wonder if you could buy this configuration for other purposes besides bioinformatics ... like a shake render farm? I think this would be to much horsepower to play games, use garageband, or final cut pro ... :D
