iPod touch iTouch not recognized by PC.

The charger works as it's plugged into outlet and charges the iTouch.

However when I try to connect to PC, it isn't recognized. Not sure what the problem is, the USB port is functional.

do you have a usb 2.0 port? I know some cheap pc's don't have them

I'm not poor... so yes I have a 2.0 port. lol...

Check for lint in your connector if there is none try connecting your iPod to another computer.

Just to clarify: Does it charge when connected to your computer, or are you using an external charger?

You do have iTunes 8 right? And XP Service Pack 2 or Vista?
