But oh well, what can you do? Take solace in the fact that they at least made one good decision in the past 8 years? :D

Back to topic, who cares? The type of products you buy don't define a person entirely. It's like saying I'm Micheal Jordan for putting on a pair of Nikes.

Bush used a mac? when he used the google? I doubt that Bush was/is even remotely a regular computer user. Much was made about the archaic state of the white house's computer setup when the Obama team moved in. Still, the O keys were there (and the W keys were there when Bush moved in as well).

I saw this on TV last night too, and thought the exact same thing...:)

To be honest, I don't care that he uses a Mac, and I know that he was a major scammer that deserves to get the book thrown at him, but I don't believe that calls for a camera spying through his house window...

Even a crook should deserve privacy in his own home.

Perhaps, but some crooks shouldn't have access to their homes or computers/internet. Let's coddle the financial Hitler of the decade...

He does not deserve to be hanged. Did he rape someone? Did he kill someone? Did he commit treason? That answer to all of those is no. I'm not trying to defend him, but come on. What he did was wrong, but he certainly doesn't deserve to be hung, or to spend the rest of his life in prison.

EDIT:

@ MultiM-

"Financial Hitler" really?

I have to agree with dukebound85 on this. Why does this bother anyone. They days are gone where one Mac user reflects upon another, so it doesn't really mean anything other than he had enough money to walk into a store and buy one.

Yet we always seem to care when a favorite celebrity uses a mac.

Not all of us.
Some of us couldn't care less who uses Apple products.

I think it's the "cult of Macintosh" that has everything to do with it, though.

Speaking of Macs, I wonder did the Obama Administration finally ditch all the Windows PCs at the White House and set up a bunch of iMacs in the White House offices? That right there would be a couple of hundred new iMacs Apple could have sold to the White House through a local dealer with a GSA Schedule. :D

No, the WH is forced to use the windows pc's because of the Secret Service. They wouldn't allow for a switch to Mac's.

It's a conspiracy, I tell you! Bill Gates conspired with a Windows-loving alien overlord and they went in halvsies on a huge bribe to the Secret Service (why do you think they call them the SECRET Service, huh?)

Ahhh the pretentious nature of a mac user that online bloggers keep blogging about. So refreshing.

WTFC is what I have to say about it.

You want to spend that kind of money, on the white house, during a recession(possibly the biggest recession since the depression)?
I see how the sheep follow the shepherd...blindly...

First of all, you are comparing a man of fraud to a man of killing thousands of people (Madoff and Saddam). All the money in the world isn't worth a persons life.

Second of all, who gives a flying **** if somebody uses an Apple computer.

That's stimulus! Although it's a poor example of it, since the manufacturing portion of the spending would go to China, even if Apple got it's cut. It would be better to spend it putting American-built solar panels on the roof of the WH IMHO.

Maybe Saddam used one, maybe bin Laden uses one. I know Rush Limbaugh, one I don't like either, likes his Mac.

It's a tool, and a product, just like anything else. I love Diet Coke, for instance, and I am sure there are vicious third world dictators who drink the stuff. But that won't change my taste for that product.

We here on Macrumors have already seen the pictures of Steve Jobs using his Sony VAIO PC laptop some years back in his office at Pixar, but who really cares? I have Macs and yes, one PC. Computers are just tools, although very useful, but still tools.
