So I'm about to by a late 2006 MBP 2,33 - I'm assuming it has a rather paltry 120GB disk onboard.

Any recommendations on a good drive to replace it with, preferably 500GB. I see loads of 5400rpm HDD's for sale, but I assume a 7200rpm will be visibly more performant?

Cheers
Dave

I upgraded to an Hitatchi 320GB 7,200RPM drive. Quiet, not any noticeable vibration increase and slightly quicker than the stock 250GB 5,400RPM drive I had.

In fact the answer is in a thread here - Seagate Momentus 500GB 7200rpm!

I see several places I can get one for 110 - 130EUR so that's the one I'll go for, that's four times as much as the original :D
