I have a 500mhz imac snow and evry time i play a dvd there is a clicking sound

May be is digital audio distortion, be more specific.

Mechanical clicking, like the drive spinning, or from the speakers? If it's audio, is it also in the headphones? Is your faucet turned off tight? Clock on the wall? Buried a body under the floorboards and the heart is still beating?
