Macbook screen defect?

This is on a brand new MacBook! Just wanted to confirm this is a defect and not a style or something I can fix on my own. Thanks everyone!

Change your desktop background, sometimes it can show through. If that doesnt change the problem then you should head to the apple store.

You mean the translucent menu bar? That's a setting that can be changed; not sure where, though. I'm at a PC right now. Check System Pref and search for Menu Bar.

System Pref > Desktop And Screen Saver > Take check mark off of translucent menu bar.
