iPod touch remote question

Hi, is there any way to do this....I have my ipod plugged into my mac. And I want to use the remote app on my itouch to change the songs. Is this possible?😕

The remote app is used over wifi. Not when it is plugged into the computer.

then use your mac and create an adhoc network and connect your ipod to it. The adhoc network works like wifi
