So I was just looking around on some unboxing sites and I saw the Apple remote within the box of the macbook. Does the remote come with all models of the macbook now?

ahh crap. how much do those things run? I would assume that the infrared isnt included on the computer either?

The title of this thread amused me (I get amused at semantics, what can I say?) because it reads as if the remote has a free MacBook with it, rather than the other way round!

The Apple store sell them and they are £15 in the UK but you can get them on eBay and what have you. I use the remote from my iMac if I need one, they are all the same.

Sorry for the double post, by the way, I confused myself.

At least with the Unibody Pro, the remote works fine, and doesn't require anything else to operate. Tried the one that came with my early-model Pro when I got my Unibody one, it was kinda fun controlling both computers at once!

The infrared port is included in all macbooks. It's just the remote you'll be needing.

Not that it's of much help now, but macbooks used to come with a free Apple Remote. They just don't now.

Perfect perfect. thank you for clearing that up. I might pick one up.

Wow. I can't believe that they don't include remotes any more. That is a bit odd - or does the competition do it as well? 🙄

Oh well, if you can get one easily I guess it isn't a problem. Enjoy your mac 🙂.
