I'm trying to figure what feature films are made on Macintosh and edited in Final Cut Pro. I know Cold Mountain (www.coldmountainmovie.com) and Internet Detectives: Net Bandits (http://www.coresoftcomputers.com/idnb) were, does anyone know of any others?

my best understanding of avid is that its a stand alone app that needs no os.

I work at a local TV station that uses Avid (and Final Cut!), and I know that Avid Express runs on Mac OS or Windows. I think all versions require an OS to run, but I may be wrong.

Avid Express is much differnt than the Avid Media Composer (the REAL Avid)........
Avid Express is an affordable, cut up version of the real avid Editing systems which can run into the $50,000 and beyond range

Some of Avid's Software does require an OS to work, but a full scale Avid system doesn't. These full scale Avid Editing Systems cost between $250,000 to $750,000. I have a friend who owns an editing facility in Nashville, TN. Every two years he upgrades his Avid systems. He bought 5 new editing systems last year and paid about $5,000,000 for all of the new equipment. When he upgrades again next year, he will have just passed the break even point.

I heard that Steven Soderbergh did "Traffic" on FCP.

My source was little more than a 10 minute acquaitence, so make of that what you will re: accuracy.
