After reading many threads about external hard drives, it seems like OWC and fantom drives are the way to go. but i think their external HDs are a little bit overpriced, plus i already have a WD 120gb HD and i just want to find a small and light enclosure that works with my ibook. recently, i actually bought a usb 2.0 enclosure from sanmax and i have had all kinds of problems w/ it. everytime i tried to copy files from the drive to my ibook, it would slow down the system so much that the mouse pointer wouldn't stop spinning>so i have to restart my comp. 😡
And it seems also the enclosure is not defective cuz it works perfectly on my two other PCs. 😕
So does anyone have any advices on which enclosures are reliable? (in a sense that it's compatible with mac)
BTW, i would like to have one that's under 50 bucks.
