CS 4 Magic Wand Help

So I recently re formatted my computer and forgot to back up my cs3. So after upgrading to the new cs 4 I was using it one and went to grab the most useful tool in the application, the magic wand. I got and and discovered it's now the "quick selection tool" So after much work I got a dmg of CS 3 Photoshop and cracked to make it work for what I needed but I still have this stupid tool. It is so dumb and I need to do my vector art and make my own brushes. Is this a screw up on my part or is this right across the board. I don't see adobe changing something that works so well. If this is the case is there a plugin that would fix this?

You should know that by holding down the button you can choose between the magic wand and the quick selection tool as:

Or just press the shortcut key.

Both have existed for as far as I can remember.

I will try that. I think I have but I am not sure maybe I am just dumb....
