i would recommend getting a pro clip usa mount if you want to connect it to your dashboard. they are pretty pricy but i use my iphone as my gps system with the g-map app. it works very well and is the best solution i have used with any phone. good luck

I second that, I use a Pro Clip and it is worth every penny. I picked up the adjustable version for the iPhone so it can adapt no matter what case I use (or no case at all).

My wife bought me the Kensington and I love it. Rotates, has been attached to my windshield since xmas pretty sturdy and doesn't droop.

Pro Clip all the way. A little pricey, but after you install it and use it for awhile, you'll agree that it's worth every penny.

Proclip is waay expensive. You have to buy the holder and then buy the mount.

So far I think I"m leaning with the Kensington one with the flexible arm... Thanks for all the input.

Griffin Window Seat

Just got the Griffin Window Seat, excellent build quality and all the attachments for original iPhone, 3G, and touch. Sturdy and rotates. Brilliant!

I got this tip from my son

Use your desktop dock! Pull off the rubber foot, go to an auto parts store and buy some strong hook and eye or Velcro and put it on the dash or wherever it will fit. I have been using it in my Jeep and it has only come out once during a hard bump. For most street driving it works well. Also, use your usb cable and adapter plugged into an inverter for that power hungry Iphone.

+1 for ProClip. Yes, it's pricey, but looks much neater than anything else I've come across.

This looks like the same as the Pro Clip for only $8...? Can anyone confirm? Thanks
I don't know which ProClip holder you've been looking at, but the link you posted looks nothing like a ProClip.

Brodit/ProClip on the left |-----------------------| yuck! on the right.

I'm looking for a suction cup with a flexible arm. I don't want to put anything super sticky on my dash or anywhere on my car.

I never saw the proclip before. Now seeing it, I ordered 1 for my car and one for the wife's. Probably the cleanest mount I've seen.

I find mounting the car from behind is the best 😱....oh wait, Duh? I am not too sure what iphone car mount works best. Thought this was a different topic. Will go now- sorry! 😎

I use a Brodit/ProClip, worth the money, very sturdy once installed. Doesn't do any damage to the phone what-so-ever.

Really?

Go to http://www.brodit.com/
In the Devices section on the left
- Select > Apple
- Select > iPhone
- click Search

---

Go to http://www.proclipusa.com/
- select your country
- click on Device Holders on the left
- Choose Brand > Apple
- Choose Model > iPhone...
- click Search

---

Once you've chosen a model (holder/mount), you can google the part number... and you might just find a good deal somewhere.
