Comment: The vocals are pretty and the music is so lush, you could practically reach out and pick yourself a cherry blossom.

This whole album is good times. I'm a fan. Got into them after hearing the Virgin Suicides soundtrack. Sofia Coppola's obviously a big fan—"Alone In Kyoto" made it into her film Lost In Translation too.

A friend of mine told me about Mellow a few years back -- very awesome stuff!
I've been a long time listener of Air. They're an interesting back to keep track of because their stuff doesn't always sound the same. I wish more bands would be as experimental. Even though this song is featured in commercials (something that ruins most songs for me) I still enjoy it. Great stuff!

Long time Air fan here too. :)
They kind of lost the way a little with 10,000Hz Legend, but Talkie Walkie was definitely a return to form.
Alone in Kyoto is the standout track for me :)
Dailytunes seems to have swung more on to my wavelength now. For a long time, there only seemed to be stuff that I'd never heard of/couldn't stand, but I've posted to 4 or 5 of these threads recently. I'll definitely have to check out Mellow.

Who else would you guys recommend as a worthy listen to in the vain of Air for a fan of likes of Air [obviously!?], Royksopp and Sigur Ros et al? ;)

Give 'Felt Mountain' by Goldfrapp a go.
Their later albums are all raunchy electronica, but this first album is a lush (in the musical sense) laid back album and Alison Goldfrapp has an incredible voice.

This is a bit off topic but,
I'm really disappointed that Mellow's latest cd is available only through import in North America, and I really cannot see myself dropping 40 bucks on a cd.
Grrrrr.

I really like the video to this song. It was directed by a rogue porn maker ;)

Thanks to both Kernow and Blue Velvet for the recommendations -- funnily enough I'm off to see Goldfrapp for the second time at Sheffield Octagon this coming Thursday [23rd Feb].
Should be a good gig and thanks again... ;)

Just looking back at the posting dates - the original was posted in March 2004, the first reply in Jan 2006 - nearly two years later
I had to go back and check the original album - I hadn't realised it had been released that long.

Excellent recommendation, I love Air.
I just got Goldfrapp's Felt Mountain on recommendation from a friend, and I'll be checking that out this week.
