Hi,

Bought a new iMac a few months ago, it is runnig fine no problems except that once it is turned on it is very loud, I presume its something to do with the fan?? anyone any advice how solve this issue?

I imagine you are going to have to bring it in to an Apple Store.

Download the widget "iStat" and let us know how many rpm the fan is spinning while not doing heavy stuff with your processor. I think this should benfit to help ...

cheers wait..so its running fine while it turned off? maybe you should leave it off :p

There are solutions like resetting the PMU and SMU..If apple deems there is nothing wrong and the sound is normal you can look here for a possible solution
