Hi!
Thinking of buying a 48xx card and I wonder if it would be needed a EFI bios file for the card or will it work anyway?

No, you will just need the proper kext.

Kext's are already leaked and people are already using the 48XX with QE/CI enabled.

Getting adequate power might be a problem. It seems the '09 only has 2x 6 pin power connectors on the logic board.
