I recently bought a mac mini to use as a media pc. didnt get any keyboard and mouse because i want to use a wireless keyboard with a touchpad built in. there are some good ones out there i know...logitech edge but its too expensive for me.
I have looked at some dell and generic brands but my question is will they work with a mac mini? and will the touchpad hold well?
here are a few i found around ebay:

If they are Bluetooth (assuming you have BT installed on your mini) or USB, they'll work.
As to reliability, never used one.

Thats the keyboard I have for my mini. The range is really good and it puts itself to sleep after a few mins of inactivity, which saves the battery.
Two annoyances I have
1) The click is very loud
2) You can't turn off the up/down scroll part, so if you're not paying much attention to where your finger is, you can end up scrolling down
All in all - its a good keyboard :D I swapped over the Alt and Windows key buttons though, to make it more Mac like

the dinovo edge for mac is rechargeable, and comes with a cool cradle for your living room
the ps3 works off of aa's, which you can also get rechargeable
personal choice i suppose, but ya, its hard to argue with the price for sure

I was almost sold on buying the PS3 keyboard, but the lack of a dedicated Apple/Command button (without software remapping) is a deal breaker for me.

I'm thinking of the following for my upcoming mini-in-the-living room purchase. Anyone have experience with it? Does it look from the description like it would do the job well? How do I map a command button?

Thanks.

I have one of the new MacMinis myself and use the Logitech Bluetooth MeidaBoard Pro on it. It's wonderful and works quite well (I'm typing this using that keyboard). The mouse functions fine and the keyboard overall is great. Most of the media buttons along the top even work in Front Row. The only complaint I have so far is that, while I remapped the Alt key to Command, where the Alt key on a Mac keyboard should be there are left and right click keys, and I have not discovered how to remap these (DoubleCommand wasn't much help there...)
Overall it's a great purchase though. Got mine from Newegg (cheaper than Amazon).

Why not an old iPhone or iPod Touch (if you have one, say if you upgraded) and Air Mouse (http://www.mobileairmouse.com/)? It uses wifi now, but will use Bluetooth with v. 3.0 of the iPhone software according to their page.

I'm using Air Mouse right now on a 2g ipod touch with my new mac mini. It works pretty well, and the acceleration is nice and feels very mac like. A lot of the other mouse/trackpad applets for the iphone/ipod are rather mediocre and PC-like. They have no acceleration models and behave rather herky jerky.
