Buying advice RE: new iMac's

Hi all,
I was looking into buying an iMac. As of now I plan on buying the old model and saving a couple hundred bucks. Is this reasonable or are the new ones absolutely worth the money?

Also, if I wanted to buy the old model, where do you recommend buying from?

buy refurbished from Apple

$1200 for a refurb 24" 2.8 with radeon 2600 or $1000 for refurb 20" 2.66 with radeon 2600. Those are awfully good deals.
