I'm new to this forum but not new to macs but i have a small problem involving itunes 4.2.
Basically it was burning fine and everything was good until i tried to burn a CD and it did everything...initialized and then burn't and then said finishing, then the small little sound that tells you that your disc is ready.
Then appears a window saying "MAC OSX CANNOT READ THIS DISC" and this is the problem the disc won't play and on my CD player it says" CD not finalized".
I have tried three different types of CD-Rs and they are all the same.
If anyone can help me i'd appreciate it thanks.
scott.

first, i'd try a better brand of CD-R, then i'd write a more descriptive title

I have bought 3 different types of CD-R and its still the same do you think that reinstalling itunes would help or be a complete waste of time

Try burning a disk using different software (Toast, the Finder, etc.) to see if those disks finalize and work correctly. If they do - iTunes, if they don't - burner is causing the problem.

well first just trash the prefernces and see if it works ok...to do that..goto
yourname-library-prefernces..
there would be a file com.apple.iTunes.plist...
just drag it to the desktop..
again launch itunes, it would set up again..then try burning a cd..
cheers

I did what you said and dragged the(com.apple.itunes.plist)to desktop and opened itunes again but it opened normally,
Is that right or have i done something wrong(as usual)
thanks

You did right. Dragging trashing your prefferances only sets iTunes back to defaults. It will still run. You just have to redo your settings. He told you to do that because sometimes preferances can get currupted and cause odd problems. So try burning now, with everthing at factory settings.
