I am awaiting my new iMac to arrive and have a question about my current speaker set up and if it will be compatable with my new iMac.

The speakers are the 5.1 set and have 3 coloured connectors which connect to the back in my sound card. However, looking at the back of the new iMac, I see no connection for these 3 cables.

Any help appreciated.

you have to get a 5.1 external sound card. as far as I know, only griffin and zalman make them for mac.

In that case, as I am in the market for new speakers. Can anyone recommend a new set of speakers to compliment my new iMac. I dont need nothing too facy or loud as I simply sit with some light music on whilst working late at night.

In fact, I guess I could save a load of space and just use the inbuilt ones.

Thoughts ?
