When I add a folder to my itunes library, it transfers the files, but usually doubles them. So I end up having to go back and tediously delete every other song. Anybody know why itunes automatically doubles the songs going into my library? Also, how could I fix this?
Thanks

Windows or Mac?
I have had this happen a couple of times. I found this on a quick search. Might try here first if no one else gives an answer.

I don't know why it is doing that, but just to let you know (in case you don't know already) an easy way to find duplicates if to go to File ---> Show Duplicates in iTunes. It should help you delete them faster.
Good luck.

im not sure if this applies, but alot of my songs starting duplicating...and I noticed the ones that were duplicating all had .m3u playlist/containers and itunes were loading the info from the .m3u into the library and not as a playlist.
