Hardware Raid

I am looking for Hardware Raid option for the Mac Pro 2008.
I don't like the price on Apples raid card and from what I understand it is also a SAS card. Which I don't need.

Dose any one know of a good Hardware Raid card for the Mac?

Also is there much performance gain from Software Raid to Hardware Raid?
