I just downloaded Handbrake and the VLC.app. How do you mark in and out points so I don't have to rip the entire DVD? Also is there anyway to see the video while you are viewing which scenes to rip in Handbrake? Last question, I am ripping this video to edit in FCP, and then burn to DVD in Studio Pro. What is the highest quality audio and video settings I can use when I rip?

I appreciate the advice.
Doug :)

Handbrake is totally the wrong tool if you want to edit the footage from a DVD-Video.

Use MPEG Streamclip to convert the DVD's VOB files into an editable format that exactly matches your FCP Sequence settings. And yes, you can set IN and OUT points.
