At one Falluja mosque on Friday Sheikh Fawzi Nameq told hundreds of worshippers: "Islam does not condone the mutilation of the bodies of the dead."

He said such acts brought "humiliation to the faithful".

Another Falluja cleric, Sheikh Hamid Saleh called the mutilations "childish behaviour committed by ignorants who don't know the meaning of life and death".

Senior cleric Sheikh Khalid Ahmed said Prophet Muhammad had "prohibited even the mutilation of a dead, mad dog".

However correspondents in Falluja say there was no condemnation of the killings themselves.

I can understand the condemnation of the mutilation, but why would they condemn the actual killings? Does Dubya condemn the actions of our soldiers every time we kill an Iraqi?

Yes, why would they condemn killing an invader.

I doubt the French were to concerned about NAZI's being killed by the French resistance in WW2

Most of the World dislikes and distrusts the US administration. THey have 0 credibility and continue to make bad PR moves. I'm with the Iraqis on this one, Saddam is gone, let them sort it out themselves.

Australia should withdraw its troops (they shouldn't be there at all anyway,) and stop trying to play in a pool which is much too large.

No no. You're all confused. Iraqi's are greeting us with open arms. Bush told us so. Don't you remember?
