Talk about a tribute to excess...
The new mega-entertainment complex - scheduled to open this summer - will feature the following:
• The only indoor skiing/snowboarding resort in the Western Hemisphere
• Two sky-diving tunnels
• A two story tall chocolate fountain (with real milk chocolate flowing)
• Bergen Ballpark - a 8,000 seat minor league baseball stadium
• A "small" 36,000 square foot city made entirely of candy
• A 3,400 seat performance stage
• The country's largest movie theater
• An aquarium
• Wannado City: a LARP like children's center where kids can play real-life roles
• A Paris-themed fashion runway
• A bowling alley/lounge
• The largest ferris wheel in the United States (sponsored by Pepsi)
• Over 440,000 square feet of office space
• An on-site hotel
• 200+ retail stores
• Dozens of full service restaraunts
(And that's all after they scaled back on things like the indoor fishing, a shooting range, downgrading the chocolate waterfall to a chocolate fountain, etc)
Possible tenants have been pulling out left and right due to the economy (most notably Virgin and its planned Megastore).
I heard they may even push back the opening to 2011, which would make sense considering some forecasts predict that 1 in 7 retailers will go bankrupt before the end of the year.
