Wow, a 12' iBook. That's pretty impressive! What's the resolution on that baby? 10240 x 7680 ? Quite the real-estate if you ask me.

What year did you purchase the iBook? Sounds like a 2002 model.

What year did you purchase the iBook? Sounds like a nice 2002 model. One more year on that and LCD will start losing its brightness... Shelf life of notebooks in general are pretty sad (I know from experience). $800 is reasonable, but $600 is practical. If you drop the price to $550, I have a friend who will seriously buy it.
It is generally considered polite to keep comments about the value of products confined to email or PM.

thank you for that. maybe the person was trying to discourage potential buyers, so i'd have no choice to sell it to his friend for $550. anyway the offer is still up, PM, or e-mail me. thanks.
P.S. i bought my iBook in August of 2002. no motherboard failures, if you where wondering.

$800 is a good deal considering the maxed ram, 40gb HD, combo drive, and airport. to get all of those specs in a G4 ibook would be $1400 or so.
and the G3 800 ibooks are $700 new now, but have a cd-rom and none of the other upgrades. i'm sure there's a student out there somewhere who could use a good ibook like that for non-altivec apps. good luck with your sale, and don't let some people (cough) get ya down.

Are you SERIOUS? R u going to say you're better cuz you have a TiBook? And....10240 x 7680 would require quite a large monitor.

You newbies are funny, $550? You need to go on eBay a little more often http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4120850311&category=4602
This One has less ram and Less Hard Disk Space and is at $850

I was not aware it offended anyone. I have been through 6 iBooks. They finally told me it was how I was holding it on the left side. Which bothered the logic board...
Offending your post was not an intention of mine.
Cheers

It's not that you intentionally offended anyone, but generally what you did is called thread-crapping, and on most boards it is not tolerated. If, in the future you think someone is in outerspace on their price, let them know privately. It is up to them to set something the rest of of are interested in. If the price is crazy, the market will respond as such. Anyway, welcome, but keep in mind that most other forums, thread-crapping is a more serious offense. But, hey, I'm not a mod, so it's not really my place. Anyway, good luck Stevolio w/ the sale.

i suggest selling on e-bay. i had a difficult time generating interest for my iBook 700 on this site. seems that people who read macrumors always want the latest and greatest and do not appreciate that old macs are still very good!

can't help noticing...
1) 12' is 12 times longer than 12". (not 10 times, as you seems to have thought from the resolution.)
2) even if it was 10 times longer, 10 times the increase in the diagonal distance will not result in 10 times increase in the horizontal or vertical directions.
if a^2 + b^2 = c^2 (c is the diagonal), then (10c)^2 does not equal (10a)^2 + (10b)^2.
sorry to take this off topic... the work day is almost finished and i was bored.
:D ;) :p

my iBook is still up for grabs, for those of you worring about it's performance, let's just say i run a lot of apps, photoshop, aftereffects, maya 5, garage band, the reason i'm selling it is because i need to get a powerBook, i wan't that 15 inch screen so bad. :p
