Does anyone know anything about this band?

I saw a photograph of them and that is the total extent of my knowledge. Based on this photograph, they look like one of the lamest and least cool bands ever. Just a bunch of guys in the late 30s/early 40s who think they can rock, and a lead singer with a lot of eyeliner.

In fact, they remind me a lot of what a decent band from the 80s or 90s that's still together now would look like (i.e. past their prime) only without the whole "early part of their career."

Now, I have specifically avoided any more information on this band (like their MySpace page or Wikipedia entry) since I was wondering if someone on MacRumors was more familiar with them and could confirm that they actually are as uncool as they appear to me from my first impression.

Well I have three songs by them...and I like the songs

First impression are often very bad...you're judge them only based on what the look like? Thats an awful idea.

Go listen to their songs, read up, hear what people say and let us know

Trust me, that's what I always do with new bands - this one just looks so absurd that before spoiling my virgin ears I wanted to know how a band that looked like a washed up 80s act could make it without actually being a washed up 80s act.

(This is all on the assumption that they're a new band, of course. For all I know, they've released a dozen albums.)

It seems they started in 1995, so they aren't to new....I like some of their stuff, and I'd say check it out..

They're not a new band by any means... they've just recently become big though. They've been selling out shows in Dallas since around '99.
They're last album went platinum, which isn't easy. (very few albums are every year)

I'm not sure how big they are where you're from, but in Texas, it's a pretty big deal.

I'm really surprised by that; that changes things a lot.

I'll definitely have to listen to them, now.

Like I said, I'd never heard of them at all before.

But my main reason for posting was I was so surprised that they were a new band - they just don't seem at all like a hot, new band; if they're not new, however, it makes a lot more sense to me.

I hate to bump this thread..but, since I love Blue October, I feel the need to say some stuff. :D

They're actually a really good band (in my opinion). I'm into Christian music, and even I like them. They have a new album, Approaching Normal, which is awesome. Even if you don't like some of the songs by listening to the previews on iTunes, go ahead and make the move and buy it. I did it, and do not regret it.:o

Or you could download just a few songs. Some really good ones are My Never and Say It.

They're actually a really good band.

I was talking the their producer a while back, and he was telling me how bad of musicians they are... ha. I guess he was trying to get me to think he was an amazing producer or something.
