Folding Help?

Hi, I just signed up to folding. I downloaded the graphical one, you know, it runs like an app...

So, what do I select to start my first WU?

I have a few tabs

Protien Name: ProteinAg29a

And then I have a tab below that says:

SpaceFilled

I can change it to Ball and Stick, WireFramed, or Alpha Trace....

What does that do? Which protein should I get? I am on a G4 500mhz with 1 gig ram and 80GB 7200RPM HD

As soon as you launch the GUI app it starts working on a WU.

Since it says ProteinAn29a, that means that's the name of the one you're working on,

The wireframe, etc. are all different ways to view the protein (not really that handy).

I would suggest you try out the Folding Control app, though. It will allow you to start/stop work on a protein without losing work done already. You can dl it here:

Welcome. Go to the preferences and change team name to 3446 and login name to your name. Best of luck to you. Be patient. It will take several days for your first unit to register on the server

I just finished my first unit last night after 3 day's non stop folding.

that gave me a nice 5 points :D

this morning I was giving my Mac a day off and now after restarting, it started nicely where I stopped this morning.

This Folding Control App is much better than what I used once before...the screensaver version....that gave me a lot of headaches and no result. :mad:
