I have a 12" Image Dynamic IDMAX12 subwoofer in my car. It's a wonderful sub, but it somehow got a hole in the cone! It's a big hole, about 1.5"x3". It doesn't go through the center circle that is firmer, but just in the outer ring (I don't know what it's called).

Anyways, how should I repair this? I don't care how it looks, I just want it sealed. Paper/glue?

Try silicone.

You should get a new sub. Any repair you make is likely to come undone under load.

Those are wonderful subs aren't they? I have two sitting at home that have been used off and on for various tasks. I also have a set of original IDQ 8's and CD Comp horns...

Anyways, Call ID and talk to someone, they have re-cone kits made so people can re-cone them at home. I don't know how much they go for but it really would be your best option. The pricing may be somewhere on the forums on ID's website. With the forces those things generate any repair you attempt will likely be destroyed the first time you crank it up.
