Yes, I spelled that correctly.

I came across this site (http://www.republicangear.com/HomePage.html) whilst web-surfing.

Aside from my general revulsion to the subject matter, I find some of the content particularly offensive. Check out the girl on the right wearing the "bin Laden wants you to vote for John Kerry" T-shirt...or the center animation which features (among other things) Dubya giving the finger to Hillary.

Heck, if that's what I see on the front page, I'm afraid to look inside.

I can't imagine it would be officially. We can all get pretty emotional about this stuff, but I don't see the Republican party sanctioning vulgarity, as they would put it.

But I'm sure they like it.

Having just read "Blinded by the Right" by David Brock, this sort of hatred and name calling comes right from the top.

"Osama wants you to vote Kerry"?

How about "Osama wanted you to invade Iraq". But when did the right ever care about realities.

I doubt it has the endorsement of the RNC.

I don't understand the whole thing where people feel it's important to voice their political views with t-shirts and bumper stickers.

I wonder how many of them bother to vote in both their primaries and general elections (as I do) every year (even the "off" years when no federal seats are up).

This was a nice touch on the website though, if you mouse over the crap on the left, you get this:

You don't need to understand the whole political tshirt slogans and bumper sticker phenomenon. You just have to agree that its a good thing to be able to do so.

I would say that people who do the political tshirt slogan and bumper sticker phenomenon are die-hard voters. Though, I have met some that couldn't vote, but can't wait to be able to vote (naturalization process being a time-based process).

That's probably true. Although as much as I can't stand Bush, I'd like to think I'd wear something a little classier than a picture of John Kerry giving the finger to Laura Bush.

I have to agree that these folks should be able to say whatever they want on their t-shirts, bumper stickers, and just about any other venue. But I do agree with diamond geezer, as well, as this site is most certainly sickening.

I'd rank these guys right up there with neo-nazis and klansmen, as all of them are purveyors of hate. These people, and their left-leaning equivilents, are the reason political discourse in this country sucks. Their blind hatred of their political opponents and all that they stand for IS sickening.

But, like the ACLU, I think that purveyors of hate deserve the same rights and protections that the rest of us get. Its just too bad that people would rather spend their time hating than finding realistic and lasting solutions to problems.

Its tame when compared to the vitriol spewed from the other side ever since Election 2000. I remember all sorts of Bush hate posters and stuff. Remember the chimpanzee morphing into Bush, and all sorts of other things like that? No side has a monopoly on this stuff.

Do I like it? No.
Do I agree with it? No.
Do I agree that they have a right to do a website like that? Yes.
Would I fight for their right to do a website like that? Yes.
