APC Battery Backup with AVR

I've purchased an APC Battery Backup, but it lacks AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulation). What are the benefits of AVR? Is my display at risk from inconsistent voltage (however slight), or will the basic Batter Backup without the AVS feature suffice?
